Where to begin?!
And a few photos for good measure
Frankly, it feels bad that I haven’t posted anything here since February. I’ve written things here and there, but they haven’t felt polished enough to share. The world is chaotic, and I’ve been unsure about what to say, when to post, etc.
But that kind of paralysis is not in line with my goal for writing here. I don’t want to overthink anything. I just want to write and share.
So in the spirit of sharing (and not worrying too much about it), here are a few life updates and some recent photos that bring me joy.
May:
I walked the stage at Georgetown’s Commencement.
June & July:
Lots of time at the beach, reading a ton, & a few camper van adventures, including Shenandoah National Park & a bit of hiking along the AT.

August:
We’ve been at the beach for most of the month & next week we’re heading to Acadia National Park for one more adventure before summer is over. I’m really looking forward to a week unplugged before we dive back into the insanity of a new school year and both kids playing fall baseball.

Work / Life Update:
I found out a few weeks ago that my retainer at work (my main, most consistent source of income) is going away. After reflecting and processing, I’ve decided to continue to invest in and grow my own business.
More updates to come soon, but what was formerly A. De Cervantes Photography is evolving into De Cervantes Design. I’ll be offering strategic operational and communications solutions, focusing on small and creative businesses.
I’m feeling excited about the fall, and I plan on working creativity and play back into my everyday life.
Books!
I’ve read 45 books so far this year, and my 2025 goal is 50. It’s been a mix of pretty good and ‘meh’ books, so I’m on the hunt for a few fabulous ones. Please share if you have any suggestions. (Below are photos of some, but not all, of my reads so far this year.)
Until next time…
